I’m 31 years old, and was recently diagnosed as severe anemic. I’ve been taking extra iron for awhile now (by advice of my doctor) but lately i’ve been noticing bruises. I just found a couple more today. I’m super tired all the time, I get the recommended amount of sleep, and i’m still tired. Like today, I slept 8 hours last night, then I still had 2 naps, and I was/am still tired. Every now and then i’ll have a pain on my left side (stomach area)…it isn’t constant, so I didn’t really worry about it. Sometimes at night i’m very hot, and have to have my AC on pretty low in order to feel comfortable. I’m calling my doctor tomorrow to make an appoitment, but I was wondering what everyone’s thoughts were? I’m 31, and thought that at my age it wasn’t usually normal to get cancer. My grandmother did die of cancer though if it is hereditery. My mom says not to worry about it, but I can’t help but be worried. Thanks!
I have severe anemia already and am taking iron supplements provided by my doctor but still having other symptoms that are not associated with anemia. (bruising, night sweats/fevers, etc.)
My mother had Lupus for 35yrs and was recently diagnoised with Cancer about three weeks ago – she died last sunday. I’m not sure if Chemo was the right choice for her since I believe her lupus was active & her white blood cell count was low. Chemo gets rid of white blood cells right?
The doctors told us she didn’t have any white blood cells which meant she couldn’t fight off infections. While hospitalized she got double Pneumonia & the cancer was spreading. Since she had no white blood cells // no immune system she couldn’t fight it.
Was Chemo the right choice for her????
My mom told us it was Lymph Node cancer but the doctors said she had breat & lung cancer & was to be tested for the Lymph Node cancer.
I’m sorry I don’t know much of anything since she died so suddenly. I dont know what type of chemo treatment she was given . i just know that my mother was perfectly fine before the chemo . She got the chemo about a week n a half before she died …
I posted this for my mom, she’s 40 years old & This is the second time shes been in chemotherapy,Her cancer came back. Could she stay in remission?
my mom has COPD and my grandchild has Leukemia.
My mom was recently diagnosed with infiltrating ductal carcinoma which has spread into the lymph nodes, stage 2A breast cancer. Her treatment option is Chemotherapy, Surgery, AND then Radiation. She is convinced that the chemo will kill her, not the cancer. Do you regret you decision to use Chemo as a cancer treatment? If you refused this treatment, how do you feel about that decision now? I need answers from people who have used chemo as a cancer treatment. People with personal experiences with the treatment, not medical facts! I have read everything I can find on Chemo so, in order to help her make an educated decision I need to be able to tell her about personal experiences, since the statistics and side effects have convinced her against this treatment. She has canceled her appointment to have the port put in, in order to start Chemo, once already.
Okay my mom has just finished her chemotherapy for breast cancer, so me and my sisters want to give her a big party. But the problem is one of my sisters wants to do a Hawian theme. But me and my other sister thinks it should be pink for breast cancer free. We can’t ask my mom because it will be a surprise party. So I need help. what should it really be? Thanks.
My mom might be diagnosed with leukemia which is a devistating thought, but i wanted to know if it could have been passed down from mother to daughter if she is positive for Leukemia. There was some sort of cancer in our family some where on my moms side and she has the most dominant genes so i just need to know if Leukemia could have been passed down…
My mom was diagnosed with kidney cancer. She had a kidney removed in surgery. Now she will have chemo all summer. I am really afraid because I read that kidney cancer does not respond to chemo (or radiation which hopefully she won’t have). Is this true?? ALSO, the chest x-ray showed that the cancer did NOT spread to the lungs. So EVEN though she’s having chemo, is it possible that she is STILL at a LOW STAGE? Her doctor is not answering her calls…Maybe it’s because we’re close to the 4th of July. So if any of you have experience in this, please answer this and as kindly as possible because I’m scared!!
My mom was diagnosed with Leukemia in January and she’s since had to lose her job with not much other income. I’m wondering if anybody can help me find charities that will help her financially? She has applied and been approved for social security income but they will not start giving her money until August and she has no other income now. She has bill collectors calling every 10 mins.
Just wondering if anybody else has found help or knows of a program that can?
As everybody knows, memorial day is coming up fast. Seven years ago my grandfather died of colon cancer on memorial day. My mom and my grandma say that he fought until the end, but I really want to know what he went through. The choices he had to make, and the outcome. Can you please tell me what chemotherapy feels like if you have colon cancer? Please I feel like I need to know.
