Husband is a cop. He worked the jails for years. Always came home with some illness or another back then. Now 8 years later he is showing spots in his lungs and is currently getting chest xrays every six weeks to watch the growth of a possible tumor in his lungs.
He has never smoked a day in his life of anything.
We are starting to wonder if its work related from him working the jails. He has had bronchitis so many times in the last ten years we have lost count.

Your thoughts of possibilities?

I smoke about a pack of Newports a day, and Im 23. My lungs have been hurting the past couple days…so I havent smoked in about 3 days. They feel better now that I havent been smoking. Is this a sign of lung cancer? I dont really cough either, just the lungs hurting.

You can get lung cancer from asbestos because it puts fiber in the lungs and the body doesn’t know how to expel it. Wouldn’t the same logic be used for fiberglass insulation. When you install fiberglass into walls these tiny fibers break off and get into the air. If you breath in these fibers then the body can’t expel them. Glass does not break down and then it remains in your lungs forever.
