so my dad has pancrease cancer and has been getting chemotherapy for a long time now and he heard from a friend that there was a doctor who helped cure peoples cancer by giving them two pills for a certain period of time. So i told him that’s ridiculous and that if such a thing exist then the death rate for pancreas cancer wouldn’t be so high. He Threw a gigantic fit and whent off somewhere. So i did some research and i found this article on CNN but i have some serious doubts

http://edition.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/conditions/11/21/cancer.pill/index.html

if there’s one thing i learned in America, its to be skeptical about these kinds of things
also the cancer spread to his lungs now and in different parts of his body

My mom was diagnosed with kidney cancer. She had a kidney removed in surgery. Now she will have chemo all summer. I am really afraid because I read that kidney cancer does not respond to chemo (or radiation which hopefully she won’t have). Is this true?? ALSO, the chest x-ray showed that the cancer did NOT spread to the lungs. So EVEN though she’s having chemo, is it possible that she is STILL at a LOW STAGE? Her doctor is not answering her calls…Maybe it’s because we’re close to the 4th of July. So if any of you have experience in this, please answer this and as kindly as possible because I’m scared!!

The thought of wasting money that could be saved to pay for our children’s education if I die from cancer anyway is bothering my husband. I’m halfway through my first series of chemo for recurring breast cancer and a recent CT scan has shown a 1cm suspicious spot on one of my lungs. Should I just continue with the current plan (7 more treatments) and then cheerfully begin getting things in order and just live on as long as I can without further medical intervention?

He has blood in his vomit and he has very heavy breathing. It sounds like there is fluid in his lungs. He refuses to go to the hospital. And we are in Anihiem, CA when we are from northern California.

I’ve been worried cause I seem to get really winded quickly when I sing now but I seem to breathe easier after I exercise.

I definitely have allergies that make it more difficult to breathe through my nose but I feel like its not just my nose anymore but my lungs just have less capacity (breathing through mouth feels better but still like I take in less air). i seem to breathe a tiny bit easier when I’m lying on my back too.

Do you guys think I can rule out lung cancer?

My friend has cancer in her bones and it has moved to her lungs. She is having a big problem with mucus. Anyone have any ideas to make her more comfortable. She has so much mucus that it has become a problem eating

I’m coughing up gunk galore and my throat always tickles and when I cough it hurts in the lungs. I live next door to a cement plant. Breathing that cement dust day in day out for 9 long years. Everyone in my neighborhood is sick and dying. I used to smoke 4 packs a day but I quit in June 1st 2003. So I am getting the double whammy. Thank you!

It’s used legally for medical reasons, but I’ve heard nothing as to the effect it has on the lungs. Is it worse or the same as cigarettes?

I’m 58 and fit but have some history of occasional bronchitis, and grandfathers who had TB. I have recently developed an expiratory wheeze that only occurs when laying in bed on my right side, and which appears to be in the left side of my lungs. Have an occasional dry cough too. Could this be asthma, or even a very early indication of lung cancer? Am not coughing up phlegm, and certainly no blood.
In many clinical imaging situations, MRIs are much more informative than x rays; however, x rays seem to be consistently still used for checking out lung disorders – are they especially effective for this particular organ?

I smoked heavy for many years and looking to get my lungs checked and reviewed. Where would one *ideally* want to go; I don’t want them to miss anything as you can imagine.

Thanks in advance =) What a great site!
