My Dad has prostate cancer, that said it was at a stage 8 and he has been taking hormone shots for several months and now they say its at level 0. In may they want to start radiation. Will this get rid of the cancer or will it come back? The doctors say it will get rid of it but it seems they always tell people that no matter what. What is the survival rate?

My dad was just diagnosed with stage 7 prostate cancer this weekend. I would like for some people to reply with comfort, success stories, tragic stories, etc. Please broaden my horizon of thinking that there’s only one way out of this.

I’m only 19 years old and he’s 51. He still has two little girls to graduate high school and I’m frightened that he won’t be around. Please offer stories and/or comfort.

My dad got diagnosed with lung cancer last year, unfortunately some of the cancer had split off and made its way to the brain. He underwent radiation on his head and has completed numerous rounds of chemo to which the lung cancer has subsided by 25%. However, he is now back in the hospital because he fainted and has more brain lesions. They have put him on steroids to decrease the sweeling, just wondering what the outcome is looking like.

i heard my dad make a whistling noise while he was breathing at night, first it was normal, then around every 10 seconds i would hear a little whistle. i saw the lung cancer commercial about hearing a whistling noise. my dad smoked since he was 12 and now he is 40. he had a checkup for lung cancer in february and nothing was found. the whistling noise also wasnt very loud, it was kind of faint.

She has always played the "victim" role. She will not let go of "cancer world". She never calls me or my sisters, we always have to call her. It is almost as if she enjoys being sick and wants everyone to take care of her. My dad has been gone for 7 years. My three other sisters live oout of state. I feel so all alone.

Hi guys my dad got diagnoised to prostate cancer this week, I talked to the doctor and he said its early stage but at the same time he told us to get a Bone scan and MRI done. If doctor thinks its early why to get bone scan and MRI or getting these tests done is normal, please give some insight.
