I was just reading my environmental science book for school and all of a sudden I see something that says "owning birds for at least 10 years doubles your risk for lung cancer due to the inhalation of bird dander." Um, wow. Bad news. Because my family has owned birds our entire lives. Is this really true? It’s really bothering us because we can’t undo those years of owning birds and, besides, we love our pet birds. Can anyone clear this up for me?

According to a recent article : Lung cancer is the leading cancer killer in the United States, causing more deaths each year than breast, colon and prostate cancers combined. At the same time, people seem to view the disease differently.
"When you look at National Institutes of Health research dollars spent per diagnosis and per patient death, lung cancer is woefully below breast cancer and AIDS," he added.
"Historically, lung cancer has been stigmatized," explained Dr. Corey Langer, medical director of thoracic oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, in Philadelphia. "It’s viewed as a self-inflected illness and, at least partially, it is."

my grandma MIGHT have mouth cancer. she’s going to remove the lumps in her mouth on monday then we’ll find out if it’s cancerous cells or not. i’m worried about her. what if chemotherapy makes her feel a lot of pain? she’s 80 and she’s not as strong as she used to be. do you think she can survive IF she has mouth cancer? from all that chemo and all?

please pray that it’s benign.
